Using Herbs For Weight Loss

When most people think of weight loss, they think of their diet.  They think of nutrition.  They think of what exercises they’ll be putting their bodies through during the next few months.  Did you know that you can meet your weight loss goals by using herbs for weight loss?

Green Tea Extract

Green Tea is not only a wonderful antioxidant that keeps us healthy and youthful, but is one of the best herbs for weight loss too!  A compound called “catechins” (an antioxidant) has been directly linked to an increase in our metabolism and an increase of fat burning.

L- Glutamine Herbs for Weight Loss

Never heard of l-glutamine? L-glutamine is an amino acid that helps fuel the brain, which in turn stops our body from sending signals to our brain about needing sugars and carbohydrates (which can easily pack on the pounds).  L-glutamine herbs for weight loss work by keeping our sugar levels stable so we do not have those tempting cravings.

You can take 500 mg capsules 3 times a day in between meals for up to 2 months.  Many also recommend that you allow the capsule to dissolve beneath your tongue.

Fish Oil

Who would have thought that fish oil would be great for weight loss?  Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, which help the body burn fat as fuel rather than store it. When coupled with exercise these herbs for weight loss will help you lose the weight quickly.

When deciding how much to take a day, consider taking any where from 1000 to 2000 mg of fish oil per day.

Reishi Mushrooms

I adore reishi mushrooms for so many reasons.  Apart from their immunity boosting and virus killing abilities, I was surprised to find out that these mushrooms were also excellent herbs for weight loss!  Though reishi mushrooms on their own may not be the best for weight loss, they will give you that extra energy boost (much like vitamin B12) so you feel more able to exercise and shed some pounds!

When it comes to dosage, plan on taking up to 20 drops of reishi liquid extract, or a 600 mg capsule.

Guggul

Guggul is a sort of sticky and gummy resin from the mukul myrrh tree in India.  When using these herbs for weight loss, expect to lose a fair amount of weight – especially if you couple it with exercise!  Guggul will help boost your thyroid functions as well as your metabolism, allowing you to optimize your weight loss.

Try taking up to 500 mg of Guggul three times a day for three months.  You’ll enjoy the results that these herbs for weight loss have to offer!
