With valentines day almost upon us it is a perfect time to start looking at natural weight loss remedies for you and your loved one. There are a whole lot of weight loss products out there, but most of them are either ridiculous or completely unsustainable. Who can afford a $500 per month special meal plan? Who wants to continuously take “mysterious” pills that are stuffed full of goodness-knows-what that only take off a pound or two? The natural weight loss remedies we will explore here today are aimed at getting you and your valentine to your healthy weight (naturally, of course) and in a way that is effective for the long term.
Natural Weight Loss Remedies Start With Prevention
You’ve heard it once, and you’ll hear it from me again: the best of the natural weight loss remedies are things that you can start doing RIGHT NOW and that are absolutely free. The problem is that many people lack the self discipline and control to lose weight.
When it comes to diet, it is all about portion control. Controlling the amount of foods you eat at first can make this one of the most difficult amongst the natural weight loss remedies, so the key to starting this one is to choose whole foods. Whole foods, such as lean chicken, tofu and leafy greens and nuts will fill you up much more quickly than a packet of french fries, so you will not feel the need to eat as much.
Keeping yourself hydrated and drinking water is another great piece of advice amongst the other natural weight loss remedies. Did you know that when you feel those hunger pangs your body is often really just asking for a tall glass of water? Water will also help keep you feeling full, without the calories!
Running, walking and swimming are three other natural remedies that you may want to consider taking up to help lose weight. Even parking a few rows back in a parking lot or walking up the stairs to your office are easy ways to add a bit more exercise to your daily routine.
Spice Up Your Foods
Did you know that eating spicy foods can actually help you lose weight? It has been proven that the capsaicin in cayenne pepper is actually very effective at helping burn off calories. Some other spices to try as natural weight loss remedies include black pepper, dry ginger, and cinnamon. Try using these added ingredients to a number of your dishes to help melt off the pounds!
An Apple A Day Keeps The Pounds Away?
Okay, not literally an apple – but apple cider vinegar can certainly be one of the most effective natural weight loss remedies around! This homeopathic cure consists of 2 tsp. of organic apple cider diluted in 16 ounces of distilled water. Drink this concoction up to 3 times a day.
Keep Up With Your Vitamin B
There are some suspicions that the B-complex vitamins are very handy little natural weight loss remedies, as they can boost energy and perhaps boost our metabolism. Though I myself am not completely convinced that increasing your intake of the B vitamins is one of the most effective natural ways to lose weight, if it works for you as it does for others let me know!
I hope that these tips help you and your valentine accomplish your weight loss goals. As with any lifestyle change, if you are considering using some natural weight loss remedies, be sure to discuss this with your health practitioner to ensure that the remedies you plan to use are appropriate for you.

Great blog!!
I used to work in the health industry before focusing on my real talents in comedy. I still have a massive interest in natural remedies – of course. With so many people looking for a “quick fix” thinking it’s the “easy” answer, it’s refreshing to read something that offers sensible & honest information. And it really is simple!! Balance – just like everything else in life!
Water some people say is so boring – but all I do is add some sliced lemon. No excuses to drinking water to keep hydrated and stops the hunger pangs. Often when people think they are hungry their body is just dehydrated & they don’t know it. People need education!!
Thanks Gee! Certainly will generate plenty of conversation
Thanks Sam
Glad you like it. Did you know ice water helps weight loss?
What the… ice water – really?? I have never heard that one before…
How so? I am intrigued!!

Hi Sam
It is all about how your body functions. Whenever you consume anything cool your body will use stored energy to increase the temperature to the normal body temperature. As long as what you consume has less calories and fat than the energy used there will be a net reduction. With water there is no calories or fat so it is all a reduction. The cooler the better.
Interesting post. Keep publishing more interesting posts. Been following your blog for 3 days now and i should say i am starting to like your post. How do i subscribe to your blog? There are many ways to get rid of pounds. With the down economy individuals are seeking for many ways to slim down.

Hi Gee, Some great info here. What you say about the importance of keeping hydrated is so true – often our bodies are just thirsty, not hungry. I do a lot of swimming and walking and highly recommend both. I think my Valentine’s Day Dinner would be a fairly healthy choice for Valentine’s Day

I don’t believe there is enough notice taken of the easy exercise regimes that can be incorporated into everyday life.
Not what the fitness industry wants to hear.
I hope you enjoy your valentines dinner
Great Article Gee.
Portion sizing is a huge one here, especially with kids. They get a treat dinner takeaway and the first thing they see on the billboards is ‘up size me’. I do not allow this as the up sizing is usually the most unhealthy part of the meal though I can see many get trapped with it.
Water is a great one and one that I know I need reminding of. Any hand to mouth habit can be replaced with water. Whether it is smoking or eating it all comes down to habit.
Thanks for your advice and this is such a fantastic site that I will be a regular visitor for sure!

Yes up sizing at the fast food joints are a real problem. As parents we need to be ever vigilant.
Drinking water has definitely helped members of my family for their stop smoking campaigns.
I hope you continue to enjoy the site
g’DAY Gee,
Thanks for this excellent article/post. I’d forgotten Cider Vinegar as a weight loss aid drink, but always use it and olive oil as a salad dressing. Yummy, mate. Now I’m over 60 walking has become my main exercise in conjunction with living on a 1 acre property which is like a gymnasium.
Thanks again, mate
Cheers
